subject: Alternatives To Closing Off All Vehicular Entrance into
fihe Liliuokalani Park
7 - Install handicap stalls and allow entrance of cars with the
elderly, handicapped and unable to walk, and people with
cardiac condition and respiratory conditions such as asthma
emphysema,~ung cancer, etc, so that they may not be denied
the simple pleasure of outingrand having their bento and
just sit back and relaxand enjoy the beautiful view from
the paack. My elderly dad always used to sigh and say "ahhh
gokulaku!~(he.aven), and he didn't even have to get out of
the car, with the doors wide open! Taking him to a fang'
restaurant couldn't have brought hi:et mare contentment!
Issue special park handicap tags, like the regular blue tags.
Red might be a nice color.
2 _ Allover busses to enter, unload the passengers, then exit and
park elsewhere out of the park,and return when it's time to
pick them up, load up and leave. If it`s possible, the±
drivers could be required to turn off the engine during the
unloading and .._loading~if people object to the offensive
emission ~
Please take into consideration the above mentioned catggory
of deserving citizens too, and not only tie young and able
bodied. Otherwise all the money and effort spent in improv~aa~
this beautiful and re9tful park, Fiilo's pride, will seem
po-ho,and so unfair, and then gone is the value!

Please see that my councilman, Gary Safarik gets a copy of
this. Iie seems caring and also a good listener too,and
maybe for the other councilmen, Pat Englehard,and the mayor°~
Py the way, the Yamashiro Administration had said no skates,
no skate board~y no bikes~in the redone park. 2 gave him A
for that! According to what 2 read in our local papers, I
can`t say the same for you all! Hope you will reconsider
this issue too.
