Re: Closing of Lihiwai Street at Lili'uokalani Gardears ~
Dear Mrs. Englehard:
I have been admiring the finished Lili'uokalatri Park, and have been enjoying the
peacefulness and tranquility while riding my bike along the shore on Lihiwai Street.
I also own a car, and have driven it on Lehawai Street before the renovations to the parks

Given the choice of having Lihiwai Street available to any car again does not appeal to
me. The pleasure of enjoying the patio and the view of Kilo lBay vafthout having t4 worry~.y:-a
about cars endangering pedestrians and biking/skateboardang youngsteas ouriveighs in
my opinion the importance of having this road accessible to motorized traffic.
It is so nice to be in a place with such beauty slid spectacular vistas, without the noise of
engines, and loud car stereos. Or to be able to sat ota a bench and enjoy a light picnic
without the smell of gasoline, while taking in the gnat view.
Nzedtess to say that I am in favor to keep the road closed. As a compromise to those who
desperately need the road open (handicapped peopled I_suggest to use the alternate day
schedule, on even days open, on uneven days closed (or reversed). It wotics in NY City
with parking, it could work in I•iilo and everyone would be happyi A win-win situation!
