Arakaki and Members of the County Council County of Hawaii Hilo, HI 96720 Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members: Please be informed that I have appointed the following women to serve on the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women: 91Aary L. ~4ndrewa of Kamuela is a 15-year resident of Hawaii and is on the faculty of the University of Phoenix. She is also a Realtor Associate with Clark Realty. Ms. Andrews is a member of the Waimea Outdoor Circle and the Lima Kokua Auxiliary of North Hawaii Community Hospital, a Hospice Volunteer Home Health Educator, and she has completed the Volunteer Guardian Ad Litem Program. Ms. Andrews is a member of the Republican Party and is being reappointed to serve a term to expire on December 31, 2004. beryl Y. Iramina of Hilo is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and is a warden at the Hawaii Community Correctional Center. Ms. Iramina is interested in being a vital and integral force for the women of the Sig Island. She is a member of the Democratic Party, and will be replacing Beth Ananda-Stout, whose term expired on December 31, 2000. Ms. Iramina will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2004. Connm. Arakaki Page 2 May 22, 2001 Shawn M.Nalcoa is a 28-year resident of Hawaii and presently serves as a per-diem judge for the State of Hawaii, while also being an attorney for Strance and Nakoa, Attorneys at Law. She is a founding board member of the West Hawaii Aids Foundation and a past board member for the Hawaii Island Humane Society. Ms. Nakoa is a volunteer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Hawaii Lawyer's Care. She is a member of the Democratic Party and will replace Laurine K. Carvalho.
