Re: BILL No. 55, Draft 2
Please replace Bill No. 55 (regarding the Salary Ordinance of 2001) with the
enclosed Draft 2 of this same bill. Draft 2, in Ramseyer format, reflects a proposed
10% across-the-board increase for the Hawaii County Band and the West Hawaii
County Band pay schedule and the inclusion of the Student Helper I & II class of
work for the Department of Environmental Management.
At the May 15th Finance Committee meeting, it was questioned as to what was the
effective date of the State's minimum wage increase that affects the Student
Helper/Intern pay rate. The proposed date of this increase is January 1, 2002. We
will, therefore, submit a resolution at a later date to amend the pay rates of the
Student Helper I & II, Student Intern, and Senior Community Services Aid classes in
the Salary Ordinance.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to call the Department of Civil
Service.

schedules.
The Cavncii also questioned the effective date of the State"s minimum wage
increase as it affects the Student Helper/Intern pay rate. The proposed date of
increase is January 1, 2002. We will, therefore, submit a resolution at a later date
to amend the pay rates of the Student Helper 18~ II, Student Intern, and Senior
