Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 69-O1, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 69-01, transmitted by Council Member Leningrad Elarionoff, via
Communication No. 175, dated April 4, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from
Dr. & Mrs. Earl Bakken.
Dr. & Mrs. Earl Bakken have graciously donated five Doppler Fetal Medasonics First Beat
Monitors to the Hawaii County Fire Department for use at various fire stations and ambulances
throughout the island. The value of this donation is estimated at $3,460.20.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Dr. & Mrs. Earl Bakken, c/o North Hawaii Community
Hospital, 67-1 125 Mamalahoa Highway, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743, acknowledging this generous
donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 69-O1
and recommends its adoption.
