Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 50-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 50-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William T. Takaba, via
Communication No. 117, dated February 8, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from
Council Member Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd.
Council Member Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd has graciously donated four 5-tier aluminum
bleachers to the Department of Parks & Recreation for use at the county soccer field or other
appropriate sports facility. The value of this donation is estimated at $4,000.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Council Member Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd, 118 Lukia
Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Ms. Leithead-Todd excused herself from voting on this measure as it may be construed as a
conflict of interest.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 50-01
and recommends its adoption.
