REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: February 21, 2001 Re: Comm. No. 105/Res. No. 47-01 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 10:35 A.M. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 47-01, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 47-01, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, via Communication No.105, dated <br /> February 1, 2001, approves the cost items agreed upon by the employers and the United Public <br /> Workers (UPW) affecting UPW bargaining units O1 and employees excluded from bargaining <br /> unit O1 for the contract period July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2003. <br /> The cost items are a continuation of step movements, a 2.00% across-the-board increase on <br /> July 2, 2001, and a 3.00% across-the-board increase on January 1, 2002. The estimated cost to <br /> the County of Hawaii for aforementioned negotiated cost items will be $2,383,757. Additional <br /> adjustment such as employer's contribution to the Employee Retirement System, vacation, <br /> holiday, and sick leave reparations will increase the total cost to $2,906,729.
