Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 55-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 55-01, transmitted by Council Member Nancy Pisicchio, via Communication
No. 127, dated February 8, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from
Mr. and Mrs. Bill True of Kailua-Kona.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill True of Kailua-Kona have graciously donated one hundred and five (105)
Polaroid Express cameras to be used by the Hawaii County Police Department to assist with
investigations relating to domestic violence. The value of this donation is estimated at
$1,604.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. and Mrs. Bill True of 1212 39th Avenue, East Seattle,
Washington 98112, acknowledging this generous donation.
Some Members of Your Committee expressed concerns with the cost of the flim for the cameras.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 55-01
and recommends its adoption.
