Your Committee on Human Services and Economic Development, to which was referred
Communication No. 107 and Communication No. 107.1, reports as follows:
Communication No. 107, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated February 4, 2001,
appoints Ms. Jane Higa Testa as County of Hawaii Director, Research and Development
Department, effective February 16, 2001. As Director of Research and Development, she
will serve a term to end December 6, 2004.
Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-5.2, Hawaii County Charter, "The director of
research and development shall be appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council
and may be removed by the mayor."
Your Committee on Human Services and Economic Development recommends the
confirmation of Ms. Jane Higa Testa as County of 1-Iawai`i Director, Research and
Development Department.
