Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 42-O1, transmitted by Mayor
Harry Kim per Communication No. 98, dated January 12, 2001, regarding the naming of streets
in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 42-O1 authorizes the approval of the street names for the roadway within the
Ka`auhuhu Homesteads, North Kohala, Hawaii.
The Planning Commission at its December 15, 2000, meeting approved the names for the
roadways in Exhibit "A" as follows:
Hawi Road - after the land division
Kahei Road - after the land division
Ka`auhuhu Road - after the land division and Homesteads
Pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code, the Council is
authorized to adopt street names for Hawaii County's unnamed roadways.
Resolution No. 42-O1, Draft 2, which inserted a macron in "Kahei Road", was approved by Your
Committee.
Your Committee did not entertain any discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 42-O1,
Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
