Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 17-O1, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 17.01, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, via Communication No. 49, dated
December 27, 2000, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one
fiscal year for amulti-year lease for a copy machine.
The Mayor's Office wishes to enter into afive-year lease contract for a copy machine. Funds
will be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated cost.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 17-01
and recommends its adoption.
