WHEREAS, the Kona Lions Club has donated thirty (30) picnic tables as one of their service projects;
and
WHEREAS, these picnic tables, with a total estimated value of $2,400, will be distributed to various
parks in the Kona area; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ~Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts these picnic tables.
~E IT FURTHER RESOLVE® that a letter of appreciation be sent to George Rivera, Lions Civic
Improvement Committee Chairman, Lions Club of Kona, P.O. Box 287, Kealakekua, Hawaii 96750,
acknowledging this generous donation.
