RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF SI%TEEN (16) RESCUE
TUEES and SEVEN (7) TRAINING RESCUE ~OAFt®S FOR THE JUNIOR LIFEGUARD?1`RAINING
RROC~RARIIS
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Lifeguard Association has donated sixteen (16) rescue tubes and seven (7)
training rescue boards to the Aquatics Division for use in their Junior Lifeguard Training Programs in Puna,
Hilo, South Kohala, and Kona; and
WHEREAS, the total value of the rescue tubes is $641.36 and the total value of the rescue boards is
$2,442.69; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED RY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts these rescue tubes and rescue boards.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Hawaii Lifeguard Association,
c/o 2349 Kalaniana`ole Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
