ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`L•
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24-253.1, schedule 1.1 (15 mile
per hour limit), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Maluhia Road.
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24-255, schedule 3 (25 mile per
hour limit), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by
adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
Hapu`u Road from Nanawale Boulevard to Maui Road.
~ Kehau Road from Nanawale Boulevard to Maui Road.
SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24-257, schedule 5 (35 mile per
hour limit), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by
adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Hapu`u Road from Maui Road to its northern terminus.
~ Kehau Road from Maui Road to its northern terminus.
SECTION 4. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-266, schedule 14 (Through
streets), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by
adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Hapu`u Road exc~t at its intersection with Nanawale Boulevard.
Kehau Road except at its intersection with Nanawale Boulevard.
~ Maluhia Road, except at its intersection with Nanawale Boulevard.
~ Nanawale Boulevard, except at its intersection with FASC Route 132.
SECTION S. Chapter 24, article 11, division 1, section 24-298, schedule 2 (15 mile per
hour limit), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by
adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
Nanawale Estates Subdivision
1. All streets, unless otherwise indicated.
SECTION 6. Chapter 24, article 11, division 1, section 24-300, schedule 4 (25 mile per
hour limit), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by
adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Nanawale Estates Subdivision
1. Flower Road.
2. Forest Road.
3. Hapu`u Road, from Forest Road to Nanawale Boulevard.
4. Kapuna Road.
5. Kehau Road from Forest Road to Nanawale Boulevard.
6. Mauna Ke`a Road.
7. Seaview Road.
SECTION 7. Chapter 24, article 11, division 2, section 24-307, schedule 11 (Stop
intersections), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended
by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Nanawale Estates Subdivision
1. Camden Circle, entering Tutu Lane.
2. Cameo Circle, enteringLLeisure Lane.
3. Center Circle, entering Leisure Lane.
Colby Circle, entering Priscilla Road.
5. Colleen Circle, entering Tutu Lane.
6. Coral Circle, entering Tutu Lane.
7. Cottage Circle, entering_Priscilla Road.
8. Crestview Circle, entering Priscilla Road.
9. Hibiscus Road, entering Lehua Road.
10. Lehua Circle, entering Lehua Road.
11. Pikake Road, entering Hisbiscus Road.
12. Tutu Lane, entering Priscilla Road.
SECTION 8. Chapter 24, article 11, division 2, section 24-308, schedule 12 (Through
streets), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by
adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Nanawale Estates Subdivision
1. Ali`i Road, except at its intersection with Kapuna Road.
2. Flower Road, except at its intersection with Nanawale Boulevard.
3. Forest Road, except at its intersection with Nanawale Boulevard.
4. Hapu`u Road, except at its intersections with Forest Road and
Nanawale Boulevard.
5. Kapuna Road, except at its intersections with Nanawale
Boulevard and Mauna Ke`a Road.
6. Kehau Road, except at its intersections with Forest Road and
Nanawale Boulevard.
7. Mauna Ke`a Road, except at its intersections with Seaview Road,
Hapu`u Road and Kehau Road.
8. Mayzee Road, except at its intersections with Kapuna Road and
Maluhia Road.
9. Seaview Road, except at its intersection with Nanawale
Boulevard.
SECTION 9. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 10. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 11. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
