Dear Mr. Arakaki,
I understand that our honorable Mayor Kim recently submitted his budget to the Council for
approval.
Two very important items involve the Ocean View Community in Ka'u. Three full time regular
Firemen for the Ocean View Fire Station and a waster transfer station.
I represent 25 owners in the neighboring subdivisions of Kona South Estates Unit III and
Kahuku Country Estates. These budget items are extremely important to our health, safety and
general welfare.
With nearly 3,000 residents and one of the fastest, most consistently growing communities on
Hawaii, these services are overdue and badly needed.
This money invested properly, as proposed, will save Hawaii County many times over that
amount by minimizing refuge related sometimes precarious loads of traffic to the other transfer
station sites and minimize exposure to law suits due to inei~icient and untimely medical and fire
services.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
G~ ~ ' ~
