RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO DISPOSE OF REAL
PROPERTY BEING PARCEL 11, SITUATE AT KAUHAKO, SOUTH KONA, ISLAND,
COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAII, TAX MAP KEY (3)8-6-009:011, TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY, COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is the owner of vacant real property located at
Kauhako, South Kona, Hawaii, specifically identified as Tax Map Key (3)8-6-009:011, being
more particularly described in Exhibit "A" and delineated on Exhibit "B" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Water Supply, County of Hawaii, would like to use this
property for the proposed Hookena standpipe site; and
WHEREAS, this request for acquisition of property by the Department of Water Supply
has been approved by Mayor Harry Kim; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-120 of the Hawaii County Code allows the Council, by
resolution, to dispose of real property to governmental agencies and direct the finance director to
negotiate the disposition of real property by selling it in fee simple at such price and on such
terms and conditions deemed proper to governments and governmental agencies authorized to
hold lands in fee simple.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, in accordance with Section 2-120 of the Hawaii County Code, that the County of
Hawaii authorizes the Director of Finance to dispose of the real property being Parcel 11,
located at Kauhako, South Kona, Hawaii, identified as Tax Map Key (3)8-6-009:011, to the
Department of Water Supply, at no charge, for the purpose of the location of the Hookena
standpipe site.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to: (1) the
Director of Finance; (2) the Manager of the Department of Water Supply; and (3) Gerald Takase,
Assistant Corporation Counsel.

Being a portion of Royal Patent (Grant) 2026 to Kaheana
Situated at Kauhako, South Kona, Island of Hawaii, Hawaii
Beginning at the South corner of this parcel of land, being also the East comer of
Parcel 12 and on the Westerly side of the Old Hawaii Belt Road, the coordinates of said
point of beginning referred to Government Survey Triangulation Station "KAHELO"
being 12,334.47 feet South and 595.75 feet West and running by azimuths measured
clockwise from True South:
1. 108° 10' 30" 236.00 feet along Parcel 12 being also a portion of
Royal Patent (Grant) 2026 to Kaheana;
2. 198° 10' 30" 175.00 feet along the remainder of Royal Patent
(Grant) 2026 to Kaheana;
3. 288° 10' 30" 237.78 feet along the remainder of Royal Patent
(Grant) 2026 to Kaheana;
4. 18° 45' 30" 175.01 feet along the Westerly side of the Old
Hawaii Belt Road to the point of beginning
and containing an area of 0.952 acre.
