re: minimum taa~ rate
Hloha Nlayor Kim:
hope your trip to Korea was rewarding, personally, as well as
R County business. find I appreciate your real concern re: the
!CE epidemic that we have on our Island.
Its I understand it, there are 132,®®H property parcels which
generate rea! property taa~ for the County. Hf those 6H,HH®, or
45~, generate $1®. or less per year. 1 f those parcels had a
minimum tai rate to pay of $1HH. per year, they would generate
$3.5 million per year!
$1 HH. per year worBcs out to be $H. per month. This is actually a
uery necessary step for the County to taBce to be able to provide
more services which are being requested such as senior
activities and transportation and much needed infrastructure.
$3,5®H,H®H. more to the County budget u?ould be uery uery
useful, and it would not be a huge problem for most of the
residents of Hawaii Island County.
Please encourage the County Council members to support
increasing the minimum tai rate to $1®®. per year.
Sincerely yours,
Nlarjori Erway
