the testing of possible contamination of hazardous materials, future renovations and

and Recreation, from Parks and Environmental Management Chair
Dominic Yagong, dated December 27, 2000, requesting a status
report on the testing that has taken place in regards to the possible
contamination of hazardous materials at the Hilo Bayfront Soccer
field, as well as future renovations and repair plans for the field.

COMPLIANCE EVALUATION INSPECTION
Copy of letter to Chief Engineer Robert Yanabu from Thomas E.
Arizumi, P.E., Chief, Environmental Management Division, State
Department of Health, dated November 29, 2000, transmitting
their compliance evaluation inspection report for the subject
facility which was inspected on September 21, 2000, and given an
"Unacceptable" rating for reasons as noted in the report.
Comm. 35.1: Copy of letter to Thomas E. Arizumi, P. E., Chief, Environmental
Management Division, State Department of Health, from Deputy
Chief Engineer Jiro Sumada dated December 15, 2000, providing a
corrective action plan to address the deficiencies cited in the above
report.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE INSPECTION
Copy of letter to Chief Engineer Robert Yanabu from Thomas E.

Department of Health, dated August 7, 2000, transmitting their
operation and maintenance report for the subject facility which was
given an "Unacceptable" rating for reasons as noted in the report.
