Dear Ms. LeiChhead-Todd:
I am writing to express my disappointment in your vote to appropriate
two million tax payar~dvllara for a;~~ruit irradiation plant. I sea
no reason for ua to subsidize such a plant. I am concerned that Chis
money will be given to a fow companies or persona and that the population
of tha island will receive no lasting benefit.
I also am concerned abouC the radiation plant here in HY1o. Don't you
think that a plant on Oahu makes more sense? Such a plant would be
used by all the counties and wd~Ll be much closer to the freight carriers
Chat go from Oahu to Che mainland, Europe and Che Orient. Please
reconsider your vote.
