Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 9l -01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 91-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William T. Takaba, via
Communication No. 242, dated May 29, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the
Lions Club of Kona.
The Lions Club of Kona has graciously donated thirty picnic tables to the Department of Parks &
Recreation for various parks in the Kona area. The value of this donation is estimated at
$2,400.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to George Rivera, Lions Civic Improvement Committee
Chairman, Lions Club of Kona, P.O. Box 287, Kealakekua, Hawaii 96750, acknowledging this
generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 91-01
and recommends its adoption.
