Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 95-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 95-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William T. Takaba, via
Communication No. 247, dated June 6, 2001, creates a Clerk II, SR-8 position for the Office of
the Prosecuting Attorney.
The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is desirous of creating a Clerk II position as the primary
clerical support for the efforts of the Comprehensive Strategy program.
Funds are available through the Federal Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant.
Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-1.3(c), Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor has the power to
``create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...."
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 95-01
and recommends its adoption.
