Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 99-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 99-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William T. Takaba, via
Communication No.259, dated June 22, 2001, authorizes the Director of Finance to dispose of
real property situate at Kauhako, South Kona, Island, County and State of Hawaii Tax Map Key
(3)8-6-009:011 to the Department of Water Supply, County of Hawaii.
The County of Hawaii owns the aforementioned vacant real property and the Department of
Water Supply would like to use this property for the proposed Hookena standpipe site.
Pursuant to Section 2-120, Hawaii County Code, the Council may, by resolution approved by a
majority of its members, to dispose of real property to governmental agencies and direct the
Finance Director to negotiate the disposition of real property by selling it fee simple at such price
and on such terms and conditions deemed proper to governments and governmental agencies
authorized to hold lands in fee simple.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 99-01
and recommends its adoption.
