(Unfinished Business) Comm. 333: ORDINANCE BILL AMENDING CHAPTER 19, ARTICLE 11, (Bill 93) SECTION 19-90(g), HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (1999) (1995 EDITION) RELATING TO THE MINIMUM TAX From Council Member J. Curtis Tyler, III, dated June 7, 1999, transmitting the above bill which proposes to amend the current minimum real property tax of $25 per parcel to $100. Comm. 333.001: From Roy S. Mushrush, Chairman, Community & Government (1999) Affairs, Kona Palisades Estates Community Association, dated June 11, 1999, informing that at their Board meeting held on June 9, 1999, the consensus was to raise the minimum tax to a level to at least cover the clerical costs of the billing and record keeping. There was no specific dollar limit agreement on the minimum. Regarding the distribution of the tax receipts for the benefit of the area, the consensus was to use the funds more in proportion to the population distribution. Feels that the tax contributions are much higher from West Hawaii and the expenditures are much higher in East Hawaii. Comm. 333.005: From Maile Moulds-Carr, dated July 2, 1999, regarding Bi1193, (1999) relating to the minimum tax.
