SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
Kihalani Homestead Road at Old Government Main Road
Proposed stop intersection
We received a request from the North Hilo community through the Mayor's Office to replace the
existing Yield sign on Kihalani Homestead Road at the Old Government Road intersection.
Our investigation shows an existing crosswalk at this location. We concur with the community's
request and feel this action will improve traffic safety for pedestrians and motorists.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment as described in
the attached draft for an ordinance. Should you have any questions, please contact Richard
