Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 100-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 100-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William T. Takaba, via
Communication No. 273, dated July 11, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the
Pana`ewa Hawaiian Home Lands Community Association.
The Pana`ewa Hawaiian Home Lands Community Association has graciously donated $1,200 to
enhance and enrich the recreational endeavors for the community members, especially the keikis
at the Pana`ewa Park to the Department of Parks & Recreation.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. Beth Ehu, President, Pana`ewa Hawaiian Home
Lands Community Association, 51 Pilipa`a Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this
generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 100-O1
and recommends its adoption.
