Purpose of Grant:
Goal: To improve the quality and ~snhance coordination of the
Hawaii Police Department's investigations into sexual
assault of women island wide.
Objectives: (1) Heighten the quality of the SANS Program. (2) Improve
overall performance of SANS personnel in sexual assault
investigation, particularly in latest techniques, superior
documentation and court presentation relative to medical
legal examination. (3) l~tasntain a superior level of
expertise for the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator to
benefit Hawaii County and tether Counties. (4) Increase
the number of certified SANS personnel by 25~.
