WHEREAS, the Piopio Bears Athletic Association has donated an adjustable portable basketball
apparatus to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this adjustable portable basketball apparatus, with a total estimated value of $140, will be
used by the children at the Pi`ihonua Gym; and
WHIEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, TFIEREFORE, r~E IT RESOLVED BY TIME COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF IIiAWAI`I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVE® that a letter of appreciation be sent to Dennis Onishi, President, Piopio
Bears Athletic Association, P.O. Sox 5240, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
