COUNTY OF I-IAWAI`I _ TATS OF ~IA~AI`I <br /> ItLSOLUTION NO. <br /> RCS®L_UT`I®IV AUTI~®RI~ING THE I~AYM~N~' GF FUIV®S ®F ~ L.A~~R FISCAL- YEAR <br /> <br /> AN® ®F M®RF T}elARl dN~ FISCAL- YEAR F®R A MULTI-YE~4R L.FAS~ FGR ~'VIO® (2) <br /> P®STAC~E M~~~RS <br /> WH~R~e4S, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other <br /> obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one <br /> fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WH~RE,AS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into amulti-year lease agreement for five (5) <br /> years for two (2) postage meters for the Office of the Corporation Counsel, Family Support Division, <br /> 'kilo and Kona Branches; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Branch's existing postage meter that was purchased in 1987 is obsolete <br /> and the United States Postal Service will not be resetting the equipment to allow reading of the meter; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Branch is currently utilizing postage stamps, which is cumbersome and <br /> inefficient; and <br /> WFIEREAS, the Office of the Corporation Counsel, Family Support Division, anticipates an <br /> increase in its workload requiring numerous court documents to be mailed; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii will be fully reimbursed for the entire lease cost of the <br /> postage meters by the State of Hawaii. <br /> <br />
