9NHiEREAS, the Big Island Table Tennis Association has donated four (4) ping pong tables and
accessories to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAsS, these ping pong tables and accessories, with a total estimated value of $1,600, will be
distributed to Yano Hall, Hale Halawai, Hisaoka Gym, and the Waimea Community Center; and
ONHEREAS, Article XI II, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREs4S, the Department of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOVdI, TOiEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 13Y TFiE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF FIA~IOVa41`I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to John Romoa, Program Director,
Big Island Table Tennis Association, P.O. Box 2838, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743, acknowledging this generous
donation.
