Date NOTICE OF SPECIAL WORKSHOP MEETINGS AND HEARINGS PLANNING COMMISSION COUNTY OF HAWAII NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of matters to be considered by the Planning Commission of the County of Hawaii in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 6-4.3 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii, and the Planning Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure. DATE: Monday, September 10, 2001 PLACE: County Building, Councilroom-Room 201 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PLANNING DIRECTOR: Continued workshop on the proposed amendments relating to the Comprehensive Review of the Hawaii County General Plan. The draft General Plan includes proposed amendments to the document, which includes goals, policies, standards and courses of action of the various elements within the document and the amendment procedures; to the Facilities Maps; and to the Land Use Pattern Allocation Guide (LUPAG) Map. In conjunction, continued discussion and consideration by the Planning Commission to request, if any, the Planning Director to consider specific modification to any proposed amendment or to initiate any new proposed amendment. The purpose of the public hearings is to afford all interested persons a reasonable opportunity to be heard on the above matters, which include proposed amendments relating to the Comprehensive Review of the Hawaii County General Plan. According to Rule 1 (General Rules) of the Planning Commission, a person desiring to submit oral or written testimony shall indicate her/his name; residence address; and whether the testimony is on her/his behalf or as a representative of an organization or individual. If testimony is being submitted on behalf of an organization, documentation showing membership ratification should accompany the testimony. Written testimony shall be submitted with an original and nine copies prior to testifying. The Commission would appreciate timely submittal to the Planning Department at least one week prior to the hearing date to allow for mailing and thorough Commission review. Copies of the proposed amendments to the General Plan are on file and open to inspection during office hours at the Planning Department, County Building, 25 Aupuni Street, Room 109, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, and at the Planning Department West Hawaii Office, 75-5706 Kuakini Highway, Suite 109, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740. The draft General Plan is also available at all libraries and on the County website at www.co.hawaii.hi.us. Any disabled person requiring special assistance or person requiring auxiliary aid and/or services to participate in the meeting should contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 five (5) working days prior to the meeting so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
