Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 82, reports as follows:
Bill No. 82, transmitted by Tom Brown, Transit Administrator, via Communication No.285,
dated July 24, 2001, amends Chapter 18, Article 4, Division 1, Section 18-92 of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (1995 Edition), relating to Public Transportation.
Bill No. 82 proposes a new bus fare schedule between Hawaiian Ocean View Estates and Kailua-
Kona. The proposed new bus fare schedule is as follows:
FARE SCHEDULE B-1
Kealia
Honaunau Capt. Cook Kailua
Ocean View Estates $2.25 $3.00 $3.75
The transit agency plans to implement bus service between the two districts to increase
transportation options to individuals for employment, educational, and recreational purposes.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 82 and
recommends it pass first reading.
