Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 286, reports as follows:
Communication No. 286, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated August 1, 2001, nominates
Ms. Susan T. Sulprizio of Council District 5 to the Hawaii County Pension Board. Ms.
Sulprizio would replace Ms. Ruth E. Walker, whose term expired.
A resident of Hawaii for 21 years, Ms. Susan T. Sulprizio is currently employed by Pahoa
Elementary School at the Parent Community Networking Center and is also with the School
Parent Involvement Association. She is the Vice President of Programs for the Hawaii State
Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) and is the President of the Na Ali`i (Pahoa
Elementary) PTSA. She also assists with the American Lung Association's Hawaii Asthma
Camp. A member of the Democratic Party, she will serve a term to end December 31, 2005.
Although a formal motion to amend was not made, Your Committee would like to report that
Ms. Sulprizio is not with the School Parent Involvement Association.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Ms. Susan T. Sulprizio to the
Hawaii County Pension Board.
