Dear Drs. Campbell and Wong,
As Chair of the Hawaii County Council's Human Services and Economic Development Committee, I
would again like to ask you to co-present on the issue of introduced Caribbean tree frogs at my committee's
next scheduled meeting on September 26, 2001 at the County Building in Hilo.
Presently, I have kept this date open to allow for your presentation, as your previously August 26"'
presentation was postponed at the eleventh hour. Your confirmation in writing (or fax) is respectfully
requested no later than September 10`h in order that I may determine our committee's agenda, as well as
fulfill public notice requirements under the Sunshine Law.
As you know, there is mounting public interest in the topic of tree frogs throughout our state. Their
impacts and prevalence are of particularly keen concern on the Island of Hawaii. Accordingly, I hope that
your respective departments will support an open, informational and timely briefing to allow our elected
officials and the public to better understand the issues posed by tree frog infestations and the collaborative
intergovernmental efforts underway to deal with this problem.

you for your thoughtful response to this invitation to present to the Hawaii County Council.
