Dear Chairman Elarionoff:
Subject: An Ordinance Amending Chapter 24, of the 1Elawaii County Code 1983 (1995
Edition), Relating to Vehicles and Traffic.
Bill lOTo. 85
On behalf of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, East Hawaii District Office, Park
Advisory Council (PAC), I would like to express our support for the above subject Bill No. 85,
proposing parking be prohibited along Kalanianaole Street fronting the Keaukaha Beach Park
between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5 a.m. daily.
Our Community Police Officer has advised us that this will conform Keaukaha Beach Park to the
other beach parks in Keaukaha. We believe that the parking prohibition, along with our newly
instituted park hours, will help reduce the late night gathering, drinking and noise that has
become common in the area.
We strongly request your favorable consideration of Bill No. 85.
Aloha,
Edwar J. Andrade, District Supervisor
