Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 110-O1, transmitted
by Mayor Harry Kim per Communication No. 300, dated August 7, 2001, regarding the
naming of streets in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 110-O1 authorizes the approval of the street names for the roadways
within the Pu`alaea Subdivision, Pu`alaea, North Hilo, Hawaii.
The Planning Commission at its July 20, 2001 meeting, approved the names for the
roadways in Exhibit "A" as follows:
Pu`alaea Place - after the land division, literally "ocherous
earth hill"
Pu`alaea Lane - after the land division, literally "ocherous
earth hill"
Pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code, the
Council is authorized to adopt street names for Hawaii County's unnamed roadways.
Your Committee did not entertain any discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No.
110-01, and recommends its adoption.
