No. 111-01 PLACE: Councilroom TIME: 3:03 p.m. Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 111-01, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim per Communication No. 301, dated August 7, 2001, regarding the naming of streets in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows: Resolution No. 111-01 authorizes the approval of the street name for the roadway extending mauka from Mohouli Street at its intersection with Komohana Street to connect with Ainako Avenue at its intersection with Uluwai Street, Ponahawai, South Hilo, Hawaii. The Planning Commission at its July 20, 2001 meeting, approved the name for the roadway in Exhibit "A" as follows: Mohouli Street - Extension of an existing street Pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code, the Council is authorized to adopt street names for Hawaii County's unnamed roadways. Committee Member Curtis Tyler made a friendly amendment to include the proper diacritical marks in the names ``Ainako" and "Kaumana", which are found in the text of the resolution. Your Committee did not entertain further discussion on this measure. Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 111-01, as amended to Resolution No. 111-01, Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
