Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 112-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 112-01, transmitted by County Clerk Al Konishi, via Communication No. 311,
dated August 8, 2001, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year for amulti-year lease of Real Property.
The County Clerk, Elections Division wishes to extend its sublease agreement at a Makaala
Street building from Men's Shop, Inc., in Hilo, Hawaii. Funds will be budgeted in future fiscal
years to cover the anticipated cost.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Some members of Your Committee expressed concerns regarding it being a multi sublease.
For informational purposes, Mr. Tyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 112-01
and recommends its adoption.
