AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAIlVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 8, division 1, section 24-201(b), of the Hawaii County
Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended to read as follows:
(b) The [chief engineer] director of public works is hereby authorized to designate
and identify [two] special parking zones or stalls, [on Kahoa Street leading to
Honolii Beach Park] ~ appropriate signs and/or maxkings, for the sole use of
County of Hawaii lifeguards assigned to the public facility and for emergency
vehicles during the working hours of the lifeguard[.] at the following locations:
1. Kahoa Street leading to Honoli`i Beach Park -two vehicles.
2. Ali`i Drive at La`aloa Beach Park (Magic Sands) -two vehicles.
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
