Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the County of Hawaii
Salary Commission:
Council ®istrict 2 -Glenn S. Hara is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. Mr. Hara is a
partner in the law firm of Roehrig, Roehrig, Wilson and Hara. He has served as a
Director for the Hawaii State Bar Association and was also aPer-Diem District
Court Judge. He is presently a mediafior for the Kuikahi Mediation Service and
an AYSO soccer coach. Mr. Hara states that he is a member of the Democratic
Party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2005.
Council District ~ -Joel W. Nye is a seven-year resident of Hawaii. Mr. Nye is
self-employed in the machinery sales business. He presently serves on the
Kona Traffic Safety Committee, and has been involved with Little League
baseball in the past. Mr. Nye states that he is a member of the Republican Party.
If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2004.
