Subject: Amendment to Various Sections, Hawaii County Code
bear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
Attached for your consideration is a bill proposing amendments to various sections of the
Hawaii County Code by replacing all references to "chief engineer" with "director of public
works." The bill was prepared by the Office of the Corporation Counsel. This amendment
will bring the Code into conformance with the Charter of the County of Hawai` i as amended
by the voters in November, 2000 (Charter Amendment 7).
