Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 116-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 116-01, transmitted by Fire Chief Edward Bumatay, via Communication
No. 317, dated August 16, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the
Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund.
The Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund has graciously donated $6,954.71 to the Hawaii County
Fire Department to be used for the purchase of equipment for the Waiakea and Kailua rescue
stations to increase the safety and efficiency while engaged in high angle rescues.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Reed E. Hisamoto, Donor Services Assistant, Hawaii
Community Foundation, Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund, 65-1279 Kawaihae Road, Parker
Square, Room 203. Kamuela Hawaii 96743, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 116-01
and recommends its adoption.
