Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 119-O1, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 119-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 322, dated August 28, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Piopio Bears
Athletic Association.
The Piopio Bears Athletic Association has graciously donated an adjustable portable basketball
apparatus to the Department of Parks & Recreation for use at the Pi`ihonua Gym. The value of
this donation is estimated at $140.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Piopio Bears Athletic Association, P.O. Box 5240,
Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 119-01
and recommends its adoption.
