Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 121-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 121-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via
Communication No. 326, dated August 28, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from
the Big Island Table Tennis Association.
The Big Island Table Tennis Association has graciously donated four ping pong tables with
accessories to the Department of Parks & Recreation which will be distributed to Yano Hall,
Hale Halawai, Hisaoka Gym, and the Waimea Community Center. The value of this donation is
estimated at $1,600.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. John Romoa, Program Director, Big Island Table
Tennis Association, P.O. Box 2838, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743, acknowledging this generous
donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 121-01
and recommends its adoption.
