Subject: Amendment to Chapter 2, Hawaii County Code, Adding a New Article
Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
Attached for your consideration is a bill proposing an amendment to Chapter 2 ofthe Hawaii
County Code by adding a new article relating to the Department of Environmental
Management. The bill was prepared by the Office of the Corporation Counsel. This
amendment will bring the Code into conformance with the Charter of the County of Hawaii
as amended by the voters in November, 2000 (Charter Amendment 4).
