Comm. 356: NOMINATIONS OF GLENN S. HARA AND JOEL W. NYE TO THE
HAWAII COUNTY SALARY COMMISSION
From Mayor Harry Kim, dated September 24, 2001, submitting the
following names for confirmation to serve on the Hawaii County
Salary Commission:
Mr. Glenn S. Hara of Council District 2, a lifelong resident of
Hawaii and a partner in the law firm of Roehrig, Roehrig,
Wilson and Hara. He has served as a Director for the Hawaii
State Bar Association and was also aPer-Diem District Court
Judge. States he is a member of the Democratic Party. If
confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2005.
Mr. Joel W. Nye of Council District 8, a seven-year resident of
Hawaii, who is self-employed in the machinery sales business.
States he is a member of the Republican Party. If confirmed, he
will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2004.

Comm. 363: NOMINATION OF VICENTE TOLENTINO TO THE HAWAII
COUNTY FIRE BOARD OF APPEALS
From Mayor Harry Kim, dated September 27, 2001, submitting for
confirmation the following nomination to the Hawaii County Fire
Board of Appeals:
Vicente Tolentino of Council District 8, a 52-year resident
of Hawaii and a retired captain from the Hawaii County Fire
Department. States he is not affiliated with any political party.
If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31,
2004.

FOR AUGUST 20-24, 2001
From Police Chief James S. Correa, dated September 19, 2001,
transmitting the above report, as required by Resolution
No. 46-01. The attached reports indicate the number of plants eradicated
and the number of complaints received from the public, the type of
complaint and the complaint disposition.
Comm. 355: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
(Res. 132-O1) DONATION OF $1,690 TO THE HAWAII COUNTY FIRE
DEPARTMENT KEAUHOU FIRE STATION (from 1250 Oceanside
Partners, to construct a permanent covered structure to house exercise
equipment used by fire personnel)
From Council Member Nancy Pisicchio, dated September 18, 2001,
transmitting the above resolution.
Comm. 357: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 01-56, AS
(Bill 108) AMENDED, RELATING TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND
FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2001 TO
JUNE 30, 2002 (reappropriating $1,748,506.82 of lapsed fuel tax
revenues established by Ordinance No. 98-104 and 99-46)
From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated September 17, 2001,
transmitting the above bill. Because a distribution formula was used to
establish the original district/category appropriations and to maintain
equity, lapsed funds are being reappropriated back to the originating
districts/categories, as provided in the attached Exhibits A and B.
