Toda~• is a sad day in _~tnerica. On behalf of the National .lssociation of Counties. we want
to empress or~r grief and anger over the terrorist a~-ents of yesterday. and make a request of counties
nationevide.
N.aCo requests that your county' board consider passing a resuhtt7un condemning the
cowardly and deadh• actions of these terrorists; and supporting tlac; President of the tTnited Stags. as
he e~~orks with his national securih~ team to defend against additional attacl~s, and find the
perpetrators to bring them to justice.
~s your citizens ask you what the~• can do to assist in the attarmath of this h-aged~•, the \~~liite
House has recommended that gi~~ing blood could be the single most usehtl action .~mefl7cans cui
take. Blood supplies arc al~yavs in tweed of replenishment, and large quantities eyill be needed to help
victims ofthwse senseless acts. Please urge everyone to make this important contribution.
These horrific events have afJ'ected atl Americans, but it is important that eve carn• on with the
regular activities of otu lives. Terrorism cannot be allo~~-ed to break the spirit of the _=~i~erican
people, and the best way to show these cowards that they have truh_ -tailed is for the people of the
LTtuted Stags and their counties to stand tall and proud.

into the tu~~:;rs of the VC%orld 'T'rade Center in New I' ork Cih_ , and a third into the Pentagon outside
~uashington, DC. and;
`«ereas, thousands of innocent _~mericans ~i~ere killed and injured as a result of these
attacks. including the passengers and crew of the tour au-cratt. workers in the \~'orld Trade Center
and in the Pentagon, rescue ye~orkers, and bystanders, and:
«'h~reas, if~ese cowardly acts ware bti~ far the deadliest terrorist attacks ever launched against
the United States, and. b~~ targeting symbols of _Isnerican strength and success. clearly ware intended
to intimidate our nation and weaken its resoh~e. and;

Borough) recommends to its citizens to support relief efforts by giving blood at the nearr;st available
blood donation center.
