Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 129-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 129-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 350, dated September 12, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Korean-
American Girl Scouts Friendship Camp.
The Korean-American Girl Scouts Friendship Camp has graciously donated $400.00 to the
Department of Parks & Recreation to be used towards the upkeep of the Korean Section of the
Alae Cemetery.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. Jae Kwon Lee, Founder, Korean-American Girl
Scouts Friendship Camp, 2100 Date Street, #206, Honolulu, Hawaii 96826, acknowledging this
generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 129-01
and recommends its adoption.
