Re: Ali`i Drive Road Improvement
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Ali`i Drive Road Improvement project for
$400,000 to the Capital Budget. This project includes bicycle, pedestrian, landscaping and
scenic view improvements along Oneo Bay from Hualalai Road to Walua Road. The
Federal government's share for planning and design is $320,000 and the County's portion
is $80,000 from the Beautification Fund's Fund Balance.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to appropriate $80,000 of the Beautification Fund's
Fund Balance towards the aforementioned capital improvement project.

A. REQUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance Bill 01-56 to add Alii Drive Road Improvements
Along Oneo Bay from Hualalai Road to Walua Road project. Work to
include providing bicycle, pedestrian, landscaping and scenic view
improvements. Estimated cost for planning is $400,000.00. The Federal
share for planning and design is $320,000.00. County portion is
$80,000.00 and will be funded by the Beautification Fund Balance.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The State DOT and the Federal Highway Administration approved the
Planning of Federal-Aid Project No. STP-0186(2), Alii Drive Improvements
Along Oneo Bay project on the FY 2000 Statewide Transportation
Improvement Plan.
