Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the La`aloa Bay Beach Park Improvement
project for $150,000 to the Capital Budget. This project includes the construction of
parking facilities and pedestrian pathways, preservation of archaeological features,
landscaping, and other improvements. It will aiieviate a potential fugitive dust problem;
improve accessibility; and improve the overall function and appearance of the park.

REQUEST:
CIP appropriation ($150,000), entitled La'aloa Bay Beach Park, North
Kona, to undertake the construction of parking facilities, pedestrian
pathways, preservation of archaeological features, landscaping, etc.
BACKGROUND AND NSTIFICATION:
The project will alleviate a potential fugitive dust problem, from the
existing gravel parking lot to neighboring residential areas; improve
accessibility; preserve archaeological features; and improve the overall
function and appearance of the La'aloa Bay Beach Park.
