RE: Resolution No. 14 4 - D 1 Regarding the proposed refunding of indebtedness of
Improvement District No. 17, Kaloko Subdivision.
Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.

Re: Resolution regarding the proposed refunding of indebtedness of Improvement
District No. 17, Kaloko Subdivision
Enclosed is a resolution adopting the submitted proposed plan (Exhibit B) for the
refunding of indebtedness of Improvement District No. 17, Kaloko Subdivision and
authorizing certain other actions in accordance with Chapter 12, Article 5 of the Hawaii
County Code. The resolution includes, as Exhibit A, the Chief Engineer's (Director's)
Report requested in Resolution 126-01.
Due to the tight timetable of this matter, the petitioners, owners of land within the
Improvement District, would like to request a waiver from the Finance committee and
have this resolution heard at the Council meeting scheduled for November 7, 2001.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Nancy Crawford at the Finance
Department.
